I went to the doctor today for a follow up appointment after my ultrasound and bloods.
The doctors words exactly were - "your ovaries look polycystic and you have raised testosterone levels" which I interpreted as not too bad. I could just be fooling myself of course......
So PCOS confirmed, I then asked what my options are. Well..... I don't really have any. As I have a 4 year old, my body is capable of ovulating occasionally so I am not a priority. Fertility treatments such as medications like Clomid MAY be made available to me in 2 years if the doctor is willing to refer me.
So for now, our only options of conceiving is for me to lose weight and get regular exercise, which I know should be done anyway.
I just hope my body starts ovulating... well I hope it ovulates at least once and we make a beautiful healthy baby.....
The new me starts here :)

So since finding out that I have pcos, Ive been non stop researching. Ive looked at everything from symtoms to diets to success stories and Ive almost driven myself insane.
I see having pcos as an awful thing, a negative thing, something that I now have to live with, although it isnt a completely serious medical condition, to me it is something that has changed my life.
In order to conceive and control my symtoms, I need to change every aspect of my life and to be honest, I just wasn't ready to change but now I know more facts and I am more aware - I realise how serious pcos can be and the damage it can cause.
If you think you have any symptoms of pcos then I urge you to go to the doctor. Have the checks to be sure. Leaving it could result in unwanted issues. Remember, pcos isnt just an ovary syndrome, its a uterine one. ♡

Me and my fiance were just 14 when we met and are still happily together today :)
I have never had regular periods. Sometimes I'd only have 3-4 a year.
I went onto the pill in 2004 and came off in 2008 and conceived our daughter in 2009.
After being on the pill on and off since having our daughter 4 years ago, me and the fiance decided to try and conceive another baby.
I came off off the pill in July and had only 1 period in the December. By February, my ovary/pelvic pains were so bad I could barely walk.
I am severely overweight so thought it might be that causing the problem.
After seeing my GP last week, he took one look at me and said it was PCOS. He told me some of the symptoms and I realised that it must be all connected to PCOS. I had bloods and an ultrasound which confirmed the diagnosis.
So now I am following a healthy/low GI diet to lose the excess weight and help me and my partner make a much wanted sister or brother for my little girl.
